The Beginning of Ascent Training & Consulting

Ascent Training & Consulting was born out of a pivotal “wake-up call” during a professional development class. After previously running an event services company, founder Terri Wilber experienced what she calls a “Universal 2×4 board upside the head” moment. 

That moment sparked a question: “Why isn’t this type of education available to everyone?”. 

Determined to change that, Terri set out to make experiential education more accessible for business owners and individuals striving for success. At Ascent, their motto, “elevating minds, beyond limits, transforming futures” …reflects their mission to help clients break through ineffective patterns and rewire their thinking for success. 

A Professional Journey of Growth

Terri’s path from event services to professional development was anything but traditional. After her own breakthrough, she joined the company that had facilitated that life-changing class and dove headfirst into learning. Over the next 15 years, she worked with thought leaders including Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, Mel Robbins, and Dr. John Demartini! 

Her relentless commitment to education earned her board certification as a trainer of neuroscience and hypnotherapy, credentials that now serve as the foundation for Ascent’s innovative programs. 

Changing Perceptions of Coaching & Mindset Work

When people think of coaching or mindset training, they sometimes assume it’s only for those struggling. Terri wants to flip that idea: 

“Coaching and mindset work is for successful people looking to elevate and resolve challenges. All successful people have blind spots, just like professional athletes making millions. The point is to have someone who can see those blind spots and help move you forward.”

Ascent’s clients aren’t defined by demographics but by mindset. They’re ambitious, driven individuals who recognize that success starts from within. Many battle the realities of imposter syndrome or the pressures of today’s “anxiety generation.” Ascent helps them access the tools to break through and reach their biggest goals.

The biggest hurdle Terri sees? One-track thinking. Leaders often miss opportunities because they can’t see beyond their current perspective. A close second: communication.

“Lack of effective communication is rampant in our society, both personally and professionally,” Terri explains. “Improving it is critical to the future of leadership.” 

A Favorite Success Story

One client story Terri loves to share is about Shela, a 24-year-old working part-time in financial services while juggling a full-time admin role. Her biggest barrier? Believing that her age disqualified her from success.
